 Council Meetings are held, during the day, on the second Wednesday of each month and are open to the public. Delegation appointments may be made with the CAO prior to the meeting day.

The Rural Municipality of Strathcona, an area of approximately 193 square miles, is year~round home to over 700 people and, seasonally, to many more who locate their vacation homes in this area of outstanding natural beauty. The Municipality was formed on March 16th, 1906 and encompasses the well~serviced town of Belmont and the Hamlet of Hilton to the North. It has the unique aspect of being bounded on the South by picturesque Pelican Lake.

Strathcona has two wards, Ward One to the North of Hwy No. 23 and Ward Two to the South and is governed by a Reeve and four Councillors.

HOURS OF SERVICE

The Municipal Office is located on Third Street, Belmont and daily administrative operations are carried out between 8.30 am and 4.30 pm, Monday to Friday.

R.M. of Strathcona Property Taxes and Water Utility bills can be paid on-line through internet banking.

The Waste Disposal Ground is situated on No. 23 Highway 1 mile West of the Easterly Belmont exit road.   All recyclables must be separated and handed to the Waste Ground Supervisor/Attendant.  Refrigerators/Freezers etc. may be brought to the waste disposal ground where the Freon will be removed at a cost of $25.00.
